⚪ PART VII - APPENDICES

Reference Guide

Appendix A - Glossary

Digital Warranty

A trusted digital warranty created for a qualifying product based on verified merchant, transaction, product, and warranty information.

A Digital Warranty is distinct from a receipt and represents an additional verified layer within the DEXPIRY ownership ecosystem.

Digital Receipt

A digital representation or record of proof of purchase managed through the DEXPIRY Customer App.

A digital receipt may be:

Customer-scanned and imported receipts are stored locally on the device by default. Optional premium cloud backup and synchronization can be enabled by the customer.

A Digital Receipt can exist independently and does not require a Digital Warranty, Digital Warranty Token, or participating DEXPIRY merchant.

Receipt Inbox

The dedicated area of the DEXPIRY Customer App for digital receipts delivered electronically to the customer's unique DEXPIRY Receipt Address.

Receipts enter Receipt Inbox only when sent to that address. Paper receipts scanned by the customer, existing receipt photos, and imported PDF receipts are stored locally on the device by default and do not enter Receipt Inbox.

Merchant registration with DEXPIRY is not required for receipt delivery.

A receipt in Receipt Inbox may remain a standalone purchase record or progressively become associated with products, Digital Warranties, and Digital Product Records when sufficient trusted information becomes available.

Local Receipt Storage

The default storage method for receipts scanned or imported by the customer through the DEXPIRY Customer App.

Local receipts remain on the customer's device and do not automatically enter Receipt Inbox or DEXPIRY Cloud.

Customers may optionally activate premium cloud backup and synchronization.

DEXPIRY Receipt Address

A unique receipt-specific email address assigned to a DEXPIRY Customer Account.

Digital receipts sent to this address are automatically delivered to the customer's Receipt Inbox.

The Receipt Address provides a simple bridge between existing merchant receipt systems and the DEXPIRY Customer App.

Receipt QR Code

A personal QR code associated with the customer's DEXPIRY Receipt Address.

Customers can present the code at checkout so merchants can direct digital receipts to the customer's Receipt Inbox without requiring the customer to manually provide their personal email address.

Digital Warranty Token

A unique digital identifier representing a product's warranty and forming the foundation of its trusted digital ownership record.

The token operates behind the scenes and is invisible to customers.

Digital Warranty Tokens are created exclusively for Digital Warranties that meet the required eligibility criteria. Receiving a digital receipt, scanning a paper receipt, importing an existing receipt, or backing up a receipt to DEXPIRY Cloud does not by itself create a Digital Warranty Token.

Digital Ownership

The ability to securely prove and manage ownership of a product through trusted digital records.

Digital ownership extends beyond warranty management to support the complete product lifecycle.

Digital Trust Layer

DEXPIRY's verification infrastructure that ensures warranty and ownership records remain authentic, verifiable and tamper-resistant.

Product Record

A digital record associated with an identified product in DEXPIRY.

A Product Record may begin with basic product and purchase information and progressively become enriched with warranties, verified ownership events, documentation, repairs, manufacturer information, and lifecycle services.

Customer-provided information and independently verified information remain distinguishable within the platform.

Digital Product Passport

A trusted digital identity containing verified information about a product throughout its lifecycle.

Depending on product category and participating organizations, it may include product specifications, warranty, ownership history, repairs, sustainability information and compliance documentation.

Warranty Transfer

The secure transfer of a digital warranty and associated ownership information from one owner to another.

Verified Product Review

A product review submitted by a verified product owner.

Unlike traditional reviews, eligibility is based on verified ownership rather than anonymous user accounts.

Manufacturer Platform

The DEXPIRY platform module that enables manufacturers to publish official product information, manage Digital Product Passports and communicate with verified product owners.

Merchant Platform

The DEXPIRY business platform through which registered merchants manage receipt-based Digital Warranty activation, warranty activity, customer engagement, analytics, and future Digital Product Ownership services.

Customer App

The free core DEXPIRY mobile application where customers receive digital receipts through Receipt Inbox, scan or import existing receipts for local storage, manage products and qualifying Digital Warranties, and access current and future Digital Product Ownership services.

Optional customer premium features include cloud backup and synchronization of local receipts, cloud storage of additional product and warranty documents, AI Warranty Assistant, and future advanced ownership services.

Customer Premium Features

Optional paid services available to DEXPIRY Customer App users for a small fee.

These may include cloud backup and synchronization of locally stored receipts, cloud storage of additional documents, AI Warranty Assistant, and future advanced ownership capabilities.

Customer Premium Features are separate from DEXPIRY merchant subscription plans.

Ecosystem architecture

DEXPIRY connects every participant through one trusted digital product record.

Appendix C - Deployment Scenarios

Starter

No integration required.

Registered merchants continue using their existing sales and digital receipt processes. Receipts sent to DEXPIRY customers can support Digital Warranty activation for qualifying purchases.

Ideal for businesses that want to enter the DEXPIRY ecosystem without changing POS or ERP infrastructure.

Automated

Existing POS, ERP, or e-commerce systems automatically exchange transaction, product, receipt, and warranty information with DEXPIRY.

Enterprise

Ideal for:

Complete automation through APIs and enterprise integrations.

Appendix D - Optional Integration Overview

DEXPIRY does not require POS, ERP, or API integration for its core customer or standard merchant workflows.

Integrations can be introduced when businesses require higher levels of automation, trusted data exchange, or ecosystem connectivity.

Examples include:

POS Systems:

Automatic exchange of verified transaction, receipt, product, and warranty information for qualifying purchases.

ERP Systems

Synchronization of products, stores and warranty information.

CRM Systems

Customer engagement and post-sale communication.

E-Commerce Platforms:

Automatic transfer of digital receipt and purchase information, with Digital Warranty activation where the required conditions are met.

Manufacturer Systems

Product specifications, documentation and Digital Product Passports.

Marketplace Platforms

Trusted ownership verification and warranty transfers.

Appendix E - Data & Privacy Principles

DEXPIRY follows five core privacy principles.

Privacy by Design

Privacy is embedded into every platform component.

Data Minimization

Only information necessary to provide platform services is processed.

Secure Storage

Personal information processed by DEXPIRY infrastructure is protected using appropriate technical and organizational safeguards.

Customer-scanned and imported receipt files remain locally stored on the customer's device by default and are transferred to DEXPIRY Cloud only when the customer explicitly enables an optional premium cloud service.

Transparent Processing

Customers understand how their information is used.

User Control

Customers remain in control of their personal information.

Receipt Privacy & Data Provenance

DEXPIRY Receipt Addresses are designed specifically for receiving digital purchase records into Receipt Inbox.

Customer-scanned and imported receipts remain locally stored on the customer's device by default and under the customer's control.

If the customer activates premium cloud backup, copies of those records may be securely stored and synchronized through DEXPIRY Cloud.

Neither local storage nor cloud backup makes a customer-provided receipt merchant-verified.

DEXPIRY distinguishes the source, storage location, and verification status of information wherever that distinction is relevant to trust and ownership services.

Appendix F - User Roles

Appendix H - Frequently Asked Questions

Do customers need blockchain knowledge?

No.

All blockchain and trust technologies operate transparently in the background.

Is the Customer App free?

Yes. The core DEXPIRY Customer App is free for all users.

Optional customer premium features - including cloud backup and synchronization of locally stored receipts, cloud storage of additional documents, and AI Warranty Assistant - are available for a small fee. Using these premium services is optional and is not required to use the core application.

Do merchants need to replace their POS system?

No. The standard DEXPIRY merchant workflow can operate alongside the merchant's existing sales and digital receipt processes. Integrations are optional and can be introduced later for greater automation.

Can I receive a receipt in DEXPIRY if the merchant does not use DEXPIRY?

Yes. If the merchant can send the digital receipt electronically to your DEXPIRY Receipt Address, the receipt can appear in your Receipt Inbox without the merchant being registered with DEXPIRY.

Do I need DEXPIRY Cloud to use the app?

No. The core application can be used without uploading scanned or imported receipts to DEXPIRY Cloud. Cloud backup, synchronization, and additional document storage are optional customer premium features.

Can I add receipts I already have?

Yes. You can scan a paper receipt or import an existing receipt photo or PDF receipt. These receipts are stored locally on your device by default and do not appear in Receipt Inbox. Optional premium cloud backup and synchronization are available if you want to store them in DEXPIRY Cloud.

Do scanned or imported receipts appear in Receipt Inbox?

No. Receipt Inbox is only for digital receipts delivered to the customer's DEXPIRY Receipt Address. Scanned paper receipts, imported photos, and imported PDF receipts remain stored locally on the device by default.

How do I receive a new digital receipt directly in DEXPIRY?

Present your personal Receipt QR Code at checkout. The code represents your DEXPIRY Receipt Address. The merchant sends the receipt to that address and it appears automatically in Receipt Inbox.

Does every receipt create a Digital Warranty Token?

No. A receipt can exist independently either as a digital receipt delivered to Receipt Inbox or as a customer-scanned or imported receipt stored locally on the device. A Digital Warranty Token is created only when the verification requirements for a qualifying purchase are met.

Is a receipt I scan, import, or back up to the cloud considered verified?

No. Scanning, importing, or storing a receipt in DEXPIRY Cloud does not make the receipt verified. DEXPIRY distinguishes customer-provided records from information verified through registered merchants and other trusted sources.

Can products be transferred to another owner?

Yes.

Warranty Transfer is planned as a future platform capability.

Does DEXPIRY store personal information on blockchain?

No.

Personal information is never stored on public blockchain networks.

Is DEXPIRY GDPR compliant?

DEXPIRY is designed according to Privacy by Design principles and supports GDPR-compliant data processing.

Is AI Warranty Assistant included in the free app?

AI Warranty Assistant is an optional premium customer feature available for a small fee. Standard warranty communication and core warranty management remain available in the free application.

Final Statement

The DEXPIRY Platform Documentation describes the vision, architecture, products, and future direction of the DEXPIRY ecosystem.

The platform begins by solving everyday post-sale problems: scattered receipts, lost warranty information, and disconnected product records.

Customers can manage their existing purchase history through the DEXPIRY Customer App by scanning and importing receipts that remain stored locally on their devices by default. Future digital receipts can be delivered directly into Receipt Inbox through the customer's personal DEXPIRY Receipt Address - independently of merchant participation.

Optional customer premium features extend this experience with cloud backup, document storage, synchronization, and AI-powered assistance.

Registered merchants add an additional trust layer by connecting qualifying transactions with Digital Warranties and trusted Digital Product Records without requiring complex system integration.

Manufacturers, service partners, marketplaces, and future ecosystem participants can progressively enrich those records throughout the product lifecycle.

While individual platform capabilities will continue evolving, the mission remains unchanged:

To build the trusted digital infrastructure for product ownership - connecting purchase, product, owner, and ecosystem throughout the entire lifecycle.
